Fruits of the Future by Photographers Enrico Becker and Matt Harris |
São Paulo, October 24, 2084.
The woman reaches the market stall. She looks at the designs and a pink, round, promotional orange with an impressive 3D photo, full of brightness and contrast stands out to her eyes. Next to an intense strawberry, followed by a fleshy apple and a stunning unpeeled banana.
She chooses the strawberry and holding a basket she presses the button for 100 grams. Instantaneously, several strawberry cubes descend, without leaves and all ready for consumption. Then, she chooses the unpeeled banana and several cubes of bananas precisely weighing in 100 grams. Finally she chooses the apple, each red apple cube with bark, for best taste.
After selecting it and after she receives the instantaneous receipt of payment the energising advertising appears in the woman retinas and vibrates in her cochlear implant: "Labfruta: from the best laboratory to your table."
Sad humanity that from moment to moment persists, re-inventing the nature that the past destroyed.
Flying hugs,
Mayara Floss
